About Me

I’m an experienced professional with ten years of higher education experience. I’ve been fortunate to serve students and scholars in multiple capacities. My roles as an assistant director and instructional librarian prepare me to serve a diverse range of students, faculty, and independent scholars. Further personal experience as a professor, librarian, and student gives me a unique perspective into the challenges and struggles facing today’s writers.

I have worked with hundreds of students across a vast array of disciplines in the humanities, social sciences, education, and more. My extensive experience includes hundreds of hours in preparing students to research and write. As a librarian, I regularly edited papers, taught bibliographic instruction and information literacy, and advanced research skills. I have checked and evaluated dozens of dissertations for citations (both Chicago and APA), formatting, and grammar.

I received my Ph.D. in Practical Theology from St. Thomas University in Miami, FL. I also hold a M.Div. (Master of Divinity) from Campbell University and a B.S. in History from the University of Mount Olive, both in North Carolina. I’ve presented papers to numerous national theological conferences and meetings. I have served as an editorial consultant for projects such as the Encyclopedia of Christianity in the United States and The Encyclopedia of Martin Luther and the Reformation. Presently I’m a copy editor for the Journal of Multidisciplinary Research.

I'm also the author of A Postmodern Theology of Ritual Action: An Exploration of Foot Washing Among the Original Free Will Baptist. My book, published by Pickwick, is available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other major retailers. You can read more of my writings at Liminaltheology.org.

I’m a member of a variety of academic associations including the Editorial Freelancers Association, American Academy of Religion, the Association of Practical Theology, College Theology Society, and the National Association of Baptist Professors of Religion.

I currently live in Central Florida with my beautiful wife Rebekah and my sweet daughter Ava.
